Ethernet Controller For Windows 7
I have an HP Pavillion with an on board RealtekĀ® RTL8201CL LAN PHY Fast Ethernet network card.
I performed a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit yesterday and i was missing 2 drivers after the install. The sound card and the net card. I found the sound card driver and installed in device manager. Then after a bunch of searching I found the ethernet driver and tried to install. I continually get the message that the driver did not install properly.
I dowloaded the 64 bit windows 7 driver from here: http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=6&PFid=6&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false
I tried to install the driver manually and also through the installer....same message.
I checked the Bios and verified that the on-board ethernet is enabled.
I uninstalled the card and rebooted...and also attempted to select a specific driver to install....still no luck.
I'm stuck at this point and don't have any other ideas. If I can't resolve this though at least I made an image of the machine prior to the install! :-)
Thanks for any help that you can provide.
