This app is a social experiment

I have come to realize that there is a certain man sitting at a certain desk. His job is to monitor loyalty, patience and frustration. He collects data from this app, data such as whenever the app freezes just how long will it take before the user starts shaking the device and hitting any random button just to get a response. He then pairs that data with how often people must uninstall and reinstall due to the app using huge amounts of storage. The data is then passed along to developers so they can strike the perfect balance of fantastic content to keep people coming back with the maddening nature of the same app. Some may say that it seems like this app was written by children who think C+ is a good grade, and that Java is a cup of coffee, but wake up sheeple, you are the Guinea Pig!

Loyal (strung-out) Fan

I have never had as many issues with an app before because I'd have deleted the app before frustration had a chance to set in. But I loooooooooove Cracked! So I continue to exercise patience even through the lunacy. I can't begin to list them all now but a few would be having to close out & reload the app because of a video freezing up or the back button becoming non-responsive or all the latest articles not appearing on time (my method now when I open articles is to go to the bottom 1st where lo-&-behold 2 or 3 articles slipped right on in threatening to be deleted tomorrow) or eternal loading or half page load then nothing...just nothingness! Wth! Why is your backlog not in a 'more' list or something? Why must I go online to type in a vague reference to a past article in order to enjoy it? Why isn't there an archive? Why does the iPad version feel more limited than than the iPhone version? Prettier maybe but less functional. Why can't I see the bottom of this rant right now? I'm typing blind! Why does David Wong not post daily?!? That should be a stipulation for the existence of Cracked! And I know it's got nothing to do with this app but dammit Jack your podcasts should be daily as well! I mean do I really have to state that at this point? Okay, I'm a fanatic, but it's Cracked's own fault for getting me strung out. You're my pushers! Now get to work on those issues...or don't...God, I wish I knew how to quit you.

App Runs on Loyalty and Patience

Ipad Applications Download

Sadly, I'm giving this app 2 stars. 5 stars for content, minus 1 star for performance, minus 2 stars for the infuriatingly intrusive ads. Performance of the app is far superior to previous versions. Never the less, issues still remain with GIFs not working, videos failing to load, and the occasional (but far less frequent) crashes. Good work on the improvements so far, but you've got a ways to go. You can do it! We believe in you!
Now for the ads . . . Why? I understand the need to make money off the app; especially since it's free! Thank you, Cracked! However I would gladly pay for an ad-free version. Understandably, every article comes equipped with its very own banner-ad accessories. Fine, no problem! However, when the app automatically closes and directs you to the App Store?! Seems a little too desperate. Rarely can I enjoy uninterrupted reading pleasure for one whole article! I usually get hit with the App Store redirect at least once per page. Sometimes I can't get through a single paragraph without two, or sometimes three, redirects to the App Store! At this point I want to smash my iPad against the wall, go out and buy a new iPad, and immediately download the Cracked app. That is how much I would be willing to pay for an ad-free version. The cost of dozens of iPads smashed in ad-induced madness.*
Thanks, dear Cracked people!
*Slightly hyperbolic statement.
